Sophie is approaching her first birthday

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

I can’t believe I haven’t updated my blog for such a long time. I have been so busy with work but it is fun. Right now I am preparing her birthday. It’s going to take place in my parents-in-laws backyard. Nothing fancy and special. Just a couple folks having a good time. I just wished my cousins were close by so that they could bring along some of the little ones as well. I guess we’ll have to move up to Seattle..kekek. The other day we got Sophie a fake piano and she is luvin it. This piano plays some songs and is playable as well. The funny thing is, ever since we got it she started to dance. She loves listening to this music and jiggles along. It is so fun to watch.

Busy busy bee

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Sorry for the long break. I have been truly very busy. I started to venture out on into graphics design and have acquired so many clients across the globe that it is hard to keep this blog updated. I always loved being creative and designing things. I needed to keep my brain working and instead of lingering around with a brain freeze I gave this idea a try and it worked out well. I am so grateful that the internet is giving me the opportunity to work with clients in Taiwan, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Europe… I have met wonderful people while working with them on their projects. Things are going well and I could not ask for more. Staying home with Sophie and making a decent income while working from home is a dream come true. I have so many ideas and just too little time…

Sorry guys…

I have decided to keep things with Sophie more private. Thus I am not planning to post any further pictures or video’s of little Sophie. Thanks for your understanding.

I just had a meltdown today. Got a nice new desktop. A Core 2 Quad….but it’s running crappy Vista in 64 bit. I must say I truly hate it. Guys be careful. Vista in 64 bit is so incompatible with many programs. Thus my external harddrive is not working any longer and Firefox is having one crash after another. Sigh. Either way you are screwed…

Postpartum hair loss

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

When I was taking a shower yesterday I noticed more than once that my hair was falling out more than usual. It seems like that I have to pick-up hair inside the house pretty much everywhere I go. It is driving me nuts. And to top it off, Sophie is getting my hair wrapped around her finger, around her hand and so forth. I have gotten to the point wondering, whether this would mean that I would go bald any time soon(???). I was thinking about cutting my hair short to be more convenient. I am still debating because I prefer longer hair. I wondered whether this hair loss was a normal effect to be expected after a pregnancy so I went on the web and googled it and boom! I found the answer here.

Happy New Year to you all!

Merry Christmas to you all!

Friday, December 25th, 2009

We spend most of the day yesterday catching up with some desparate sleep. In the evening we were invited over at the Four Seasons Hotel for a Christmas dinner. It was great and a wonderful treat. It is great that this hotel is a non smoking facility. They even accept pets! That is pretty cool. Whenever we travel we always have to search for a pet-friendly place which is always a hassle. We enjoyed our time out as a parent and Sophie was behaving really really well. Of course in a way we wish to have more of those calming and romantic moments back somehow but whenever we see Sophie we know that in the end the sacrifice is all worth it. Romantic! A word that seemed to have gotten lost in our vocabulary for almost a year now. Haha. Running around pregnant with edema in your feet and carpa tunnel in your hands and crawling up and down the stairs in your house while trying to do some housework is pretty tough. And now with little Sophie around our daily schedule is pretty determined by her crying and feeding sessions. By the end of the day you are so exhausted that the word “Romance” seems to be just a million light years away….

We finally got…

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

a Christmas tree!! Yay! Call me crazy, but I am always looking forward to having a Christmas tree and yes, I enjoy it so much that I usually keep the tree up untill the easter holidays. I know. It’s odd. I usually water the tree and vacuum the needles away from the floor hoping, that it won’t become a skeleton by the time we reach the bunny season. I don’t think James will let me keep the tree until easter but then again. This is a fake tree! Pssst. Yes. I know. It’s all fake….

My first Korean BBQ in a long long time….

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Wow. I can’t believe that I deprived myself from so many yummy dishes because of my pregnancy and now because of the fact that I am breastfeeding Sophie. This was the first Korean AYCE or All You Can Eat BBQ that I had in a long time. It was mainly because of the so called Banchan or side dishes, that I did not wanted to go and have Korean BBQ. Banchan are Korean side dishes that accompany practically every meal. You will see most of the time pickled food or all kinds of kimchi dishes. Because of my pregnancy I did not want to eat too many spicy dishes or dishes that had raw seafood in it such as some Kimchi dishes or even Sushi! The Korean BBQ that we had tasted was just soo good…

See for yourself…

Sophie and Mommy

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Some of you have asked about some pictures of me and Sophie. Voila! Here they are. The first one shows the new Chunei that I have purchased. I also got a Moby Sling as a wrap to be a bit more flexible. So far I like both. The Chunei is a bit big though as she is a petite size baby. I like the Chunei as it comes with a head rest for the baby. This is especially helpful for newborns who don’t necessarily have the force to move their head up themselves yet.

Love it - The Chunei Korean Baby Carrier

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

As Sophie is slowly growing I have started to look for a baby carrier that would allow me to carry her in- and outside the house and being hands free at the same time. In addition I wanted to look for an additional solution to calm her down, especially in the evening as she seems to be colicky at times. Our Chunei arrived today and the reason why I chose to go with this one is the fact that it relieves the mother from carrying the weight across her shoulders and her neck. Many women seem to complain about shoulder and neck pain with some of the major baby carriers . With the Chunei the weight is distributed to the shoulders and the lower back. Putting it on is very easy and quickly done. It comes with a head support for the baby. Sophie and I love it. It helps my carpa tunnel syndrome as well as I don’t have to constantly carry her on my hands. I can highly recommend it! I will post some pictures soon. If you are curious you can take a peek at the company’s video here.
