Happy Halloween

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Halloween (~~) is around the corner and when I went grocery shopping today I came across a ghost and a skeletton passing me by. It was fun to watch them. Barely 2 feet tall those monsters were pretty frightening >:) Have a Happy Halloween everyone ! At the moment I am contemplating how to spend my remaining vacation days. I might end up going to Berlin to visit my mom and make some wonderful kimchi together with her. Have tried so far only one recipe but am still looking for alternatives *-:). I just love korean food. Can’t wait to travel to Seoul in about 3 weeks. I can see myself eating tons of bulgogi, kimchi, galbi and bibimbap and hopefully I get to explore more about the korean cuisine…

Grandma

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

My real grandma passed away a couple of years ago. She used to live in Seattle. Life has not given me alot of opportunities to share more time with her but those moments with her will always stay in my heart and I do cherish them very much. Whenever we are approaching the fall season and the winter time it makes me think even more about her. I somehow adopted her younger sister to become my second grandma in a way. The other day I called her sister up. She is a 86 years old sweet and lovely lady. She had a hard time understanding me. She is so deaf. I could not believe it. When I visited her this summer everything seemed to be still so fine though I knew she was already having those problems. I wished I could be close to her. She is strong and healthy. I hope that she will become a hundred years so that I will have more time with her in the future… I wanna hug her so much..

Zarah Leander or the swedish Edith Piaf

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

Today my co-worker admitted that she ordered via Amazon a CD of Zarah Leander that actress / chanson singer :-" that used to be popular in the 20ies and 30ies in Germany. I could not believe my ears and eyes. Was I getting old? Were we back to the 20ies? She even made me play the CD on my laptop. Zarah Leander had an aura such as Marlene Dietrich as an actress and a voice like Edith Piaf…What a combination! ^:)^
