Ceremony program mockup

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Instead of doing a fan program I decided to ease the pain of cutting all the blades and go a simpler route. This is how our ceremony program will look like. It will be small booklet with a green ribbon on the side. I will use our ivory colored linen paper as a base for the printing job.

Pink and green centerpiece arrangements

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

After all this prep work I decided to outsource the reception flowers. After all I do want to enjoy the wedding day. So this is how my tall centerpieces will look like. I will alternate high and low centerpieces. I loved the outcome. The only difference is that we will fill the vase with white orchids and curly willow.

My man and my girl in life

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

The resemblance can’t be denied: James and Sunny. :-)

James was getting his hair cut today and Sunny was getting a vacination shot. As the store did not allow her to walk around since it was too dangerous I decided to put her in a basket. Without all the shots she was in danger of catching any kind of infection or disease. A perfect fit, huh?

Votive candles

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

I just finished my last votive candle. I made about 150 wraps. Instead of printing everyones name I decided to print various love quotes that I found online. I used vellum paper and cut it slightly curved to fit the candleholder and wrapped it around. Using doublesided tape to secure it works better than a gluedot. Voila the result. I like it.

Our ceremony and reception site

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

Here is a glimpse of our our reception and ceremony site. It looks like a lodge and its hidden in the mountains.  I love it. The space is somewhat limited due to the amount of guests we are expecting. We are therefore very anxious to meet with our catering director to go over the table chart with her. I hope we can accomodate everyone well enough. One of the biggest challenge would be the dance floor. As my uncle will do a waltz with me he is somewhat expecting a pretty huge space but it is pretty limited. I hope we will be still able to perform it as I know he is looking forward to it.

Ceremony fan program

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Voila. My ceremony program mock-up trial. I may do a fan program but I am not too sure yet. Eventhough its nice I am not sure if I still have the force and the energy to do the cutting part. I found a wonderful site that features a nice template to do this program. You just need to adapt it with your own design and wording. Here it is.

DIY Madness

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Our wedding favors. I bought 200 3×3 inch favor boxes, assembled them, designed our monogram logo in Illustrator, bought sticker paper at Office depot, printed the logos on it, cut it at Kinkos, put the ribbon around the box, sealed it with a Zot and put the sticker on top of the favor box. I have assembled about 100 green and 100 pinkish ones.

Our table numbers. I used our colors green and pink. I centered my self designed monogram logo on top and named each table accordingly such as Faith, Passion, Support, Love..etc. I cut them at Kinkos and put them into acrylic frame stands that we bought at Walmart.

My DIY aisle runner. I designed a logo, blew it up at Kinkos and copied it with a pencil to the aisle runner. I used acrylic paint to color it.

The menu and program cards. I designed them in Illustrator, stapled the top, put a colored scrappaper around and glued it so that it would cover it. As for the paper I bought fine quality linen ivory colored resume paper. I then cut a ribbon out of the same scrappaper and put it around and finished it up with a pink or green ribbon. It’s a layer look as well: Menu, Program and Paebaek. We made 185 in total and it took us 1.5 day.

Our wedding invitations. I used light green metallic pocketfolds and a seal button.

Since my colors are light green and pink I put a pink ribbon around it. Voila!

I made three inserts: Direction, Accomodation and RSVP… For the RSVPs I used champagne metallic colored return envelopes that we prestamped.

I created a layer look by cutting each insert to different lengths.

Voila. This was our first round of invites going out…

Further DIY projects are:

Hanging initials (silk flower based). I will use silk Hydrangeas for this project. I will cut each single flower and glue it with a hot gun onto the wooden initials.

Personalized votive candles. Since the guestlist has increased unexpectedly I would need to buy an additional 50 more candles. I have printed on vellum paper each guest name and cut it accordingly. This is a tricky part as the votive glasses are somewhat cricket and one would need to cut it a little bit curved. After the cut is done just put it around the votive and glue it with a Zot or double sided tape.

Bathroom baskets for men and women. These baskets include basically just emergency stuff such as Tylenol, deodorant, mints, bandaids, hair spray, lotion etc in case it is needed. I bought two baskets and have filled them with various things. I will add a little poem to each of them and have it put inside the womens and mens bathrooms.

Guestbook. I bought an ivory color book. have added our engagement pictures and have designed a cover layout for it. As for the inside I have spiced it up by adding wedding quotes that I have typed up in WORD and printed on vellum paper. After that I went to Kinkos to cut it. Finally I have glued the wedding quote strips into our guestbook.

Wearing a Hanbok

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

During the reception James and I will change into the traditional Korean dress called Hanbok. We will perform the Korean ceremony called Paebaek to show respect to our parents. I will be wearing a Hanbok similar to this one in my wedding colors that James’ sister got me from Korea.

Hair and make-up trial…

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

We had the trial run fairly early in the morning, hence my sleepy look on the obligatory ‘before’ picture…kekekek. On the right is the picture after the make-up was applied.

This is the hairstyle I had in mind. Sleek and modern looking.
I will pin in a flower on the side to spice it up.
