…pause.
As I just started my business a few months ago and as my pregnancy has progressed I have had quite some work to do so my priorities have shifted and I have come to kind of neglect my other baby: my blog, that I had so well nurtured over the years! Darn. I wished I had more time. As for my pregnancy, I still have a few more months ahead of me. The baby is pretty developed and is kicking me which kind of makes me giggle, lol. And for those among you that are curious: yes, it is a GIRL!! Yay!
I woke up this morning at around 5:00 am to listen to the sound of pounding rain and thunder outside the house. That’s pretty rare here. The rain has cooled down the air quite a bit so that our morning stroll to the park with our ‘Sunny’ became quite a blast. We usually walk her around 6:00 am every day. This is the best time of the day as it does not get as hot yet. The temperature now usually reaches around 100 Fahrenheit during the day and makes it pretty unbearable to be outside.
My parents-in-law visited us about a week ago. We went for a day trip to Arizona to visit the so famous ‘London Bridge’ - a bridge that was constructed in 1831 in London and was purchased and brought to Arizona piece by piece to Lake Havasu City to build a tourist attraction. The bridge apparently was not sound enough to support all the London traffic and therefore was sold by the City of London in the sixties. The trip there was kind of exhausting. The temperature kept climbing and by the time we reached our destination point the scale showed 106 Fahrenheit! I did a terrible mistake that day by deciding to bring ‘Sunny’ along to this ‘family’ trip. She hates to stay back home so I thought that we could take her out for a stroll once we arrive - little did I know…On the way back, despite all the AC that was on inside the car, ‘Sunny’ suffered a heat stroke and when we stopped for a bathroom break she had diarrhea and started to vomit. I felt so bad! If this ever happens to your dog, make sure to give your dog a cool 10 minute bath and if it looks bad take your dog to the vet. Dogs that suffer from a heat stroke can actually go into coma and die from it. Give your dog plenty to drink and don’t ever make that mistake and leave your dog inside the car during the summer time. We never do that unless someone stays with her. Make sure to walk your dog in the morning and in the evening when it is less hot and give your dog an appropriate hair cut for the summer time.
